Roman Kanonik
Roman Kanonik was born in Kulunda/Siberia in 1982 and resettled in the Federal German state of Lower Saxony with his family in 1993. He began to train as an actor at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2003 and graduated with distinction in 2007. Following his first professional role at Deutsches Theater Berlin, Thisbe in “Ein Sommernachtstraum (A Midsummer Night’s Dream)”, directed by Jürgen Gosch, he joined the acting company at Berliner Ensemble, where he worked with directors like Thomas Langhoff, Peter Stein, Manfred Karge, Katharina Thalbach, Claus Peymann and Enrico Lübbe and featured in plays like “Der Zerbrochne Krug”, “Nachtasyl”, “Dantons Tod”, “Romeo und Julia (Romeo and Juliet)”, “König Richard III (King Richard III)”, “Geschichten aus dem Wienerwald” and many more. Roman Kanonik has been working as a freelance actor in film and television as well as at several theatres, including Berliner Ensemble, Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen and Monbijou-Theater Berlin (formerly Hexenkessel).
