Tilo Krügel
Tilo Krügel was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt in 1967 and studied acting at Hochschule für Schauspielkunst “Ernst Busch“ Berlin/Rostock. While he was still a student in 1989, his first professional engagement took him to Staatstheater Schwerin under the artistic direction of Christoph Schroth. This was followed by engagements in Rostock, Plauen, Cottbus, Aachen, Augsburg and finally at Schauspielhaus Chemnitz. Here, Tilo Krügel worked as studio head for the drama institut “Hans Otto” Leipzig. He performed in productions staged by Sascha Hawemann, Thomas Bischoff, Claudia Bauer, Bruno Cathomas, Enrico Lübbe, Nuran David Calis, Matthias Matschke, Eva Lange and Dieter Boyer. These projects were followed by invitations to Mülheimer Theatertage and Autorentheatertage at Deutsches Theater Berlin. During the 2016/17 season, he was a member of the company of “89/90”, a production based on the novel by Peter Richter and directed by Claudia Bauer, which was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen.
In 2013, Tilo Krügel and his fellow actor Hartmut Neuber founded “Club ü31”, a participatory theatre club at Schauspiel Leipzig. By 2016, the club had created three devised plays directed by Krügel/Neuber.
Tilo Krügel furthermore directed plays in Chemnitz, Gera, Altenburg and Zittau and has worked in various film and television productions.
Tilo Krügel has been a company member of Schauspiel Leipzig since August 2013.
