Schauspiel Leipzig
Residenz
Residenz, located in a former cotton spinning mill, closes a significant gap between the working methods and aesthetics of the independent scene, international festivals and the operations of a municipal theatre.
Artists from Germany and Europe spend several weeks at Residenz to develop their projects. During this period, Residenz becomes an artistic lab, a safe and uninterrupted space for working up to the premiere. For the block of performance dates, the venue is turned into a theatre that presents brand-new contemporary performance art.
Residenz invites its visitors to a special way of experiencing performative art up close, to discover experimental modes of representation in the theatre while trying out new forms of collective encounters.
