You Are Not Alone

In his works, the British performance and video artist Kim Noble combines theatre, television, film, visual arts and comedy. He received the Total Theatre Award, one of the most important awards for performing arts in Great Britain. He is currently working on his first graphic novel.

His solo performance “You Are Not Alone” deals with loneliness and the abysses of human yearning in the digital ages. In his search for human closeness, Noble stalks a supermarket cashier and tries to send him secret signs by purchasing condoms, tampons or pregnancy tests. He gets in touch with truck drivers who have left their telephone numbers on motorway toilets or advises customers at IKEA-in a homemade uniform without being able to produce a job confirmation from the furniture chain. All these attempts may predictably end in disaster, but Kim Noble has nevertheless managed to create one of the saddest and funniest theatre shows of all times.
