“KATAPULT – Performance Plattform Leipzig” enters into its second round. Following the successful kick-off in July 2021 – despite the lockdown and the effects of the pandemic – the joint venture of Residenz Schauspiel Leipzig, Schaubühne Lindenfels and LOFFT – DAS THEATER takes another run at providing a prominent platform for Leipzig’s local performance scene. KATAPULT supports new planned productions from Leipzig’s scene that explore innovative performative forms of presentation in the theatre regarding socially relevant topics. From an open call for applications, the three partner theatres will select six projects to be co-produced with joint resources. KATAPULT sees itself first and foremost as a collaborative production platform linking the theatres and the independent companies. The artists are supported in realising their projects through co-financing, rehearsal residencies of several weeks at one of the three theatres as well as coaching and workshop options. In a collaboration between the municipal and the independent sector, the newly created projects will be presented during a joint KATAPULT-programme in June 2023.
